Overview
Birdy is an early-stage startup rethinking how teams run meetings and stay aligned. After observing that teams struggled to bridge the gap between async updates and live meetings, the founders set out to build a tool that makes collaboration faster, more focused, and more engaging.
As the Founding Product Designer, I shaped Birdy’s design direction from the ground up. I defined the design system, created interactive prototypes, and designed both the MVP and the public-facing landing page. My work focused on simplifying complex workflows while ensuring the product felt approachable, modern, and trustworthy.

The Challenge
Meetings are often unproductive, unfocused, and time-consuming. Async tools like MyCheckins solved part of the problem, but teams still struggled with:
Preparation gaps → showing up to meetings without context.
Meeting sprawl → long, unfocused discussions with no clear outcomes.
Lost follow-ups → action items scattered across tools or forgotten.
Birdy’s goal was to turn meetings into a productivity driver by combining async check-ins, smarter meeting structures, and effortless follow-ups into one experience.
User Journeys & Flows
I mapped and designed the core user journeys that make up the heart of Birdy’s. MVP flows included:
Prototyping
Each of these flows was taken from concept design to interactive prototypes. This allowed us to validate the experience, refine interactions, and iterate quickly before development.
Design System & Interaction Patterns
I built the first version of Birdy’s design system, ensuring consistency across all flows. This included typography, colour, buttons, modals, and component behaviours.
The resulting MVP experience delivered:
